Gentle

This class is for anyone who could not do a general yoga or exercise class for any reason at the moment. AND anyone who is interested in practising 'gentle' yoga, meditation and extended relaxation in a group. The exercises are chair or floor based mostly, with a little standing. The movements are made with the breath, and encourage joint movement and flexibility, improving circulation, body confidence and strength.

When the weather is miserable, I'll light the fire. When it's gorgeous, we'll go out into the garden, there is plenty of shade.

I was inspired to start the class, which was originally shorter, because of the course I completed in 2010 called 'Yoga for People Living with Cancer', and learning about suitable gentle exercise. Several of the people who have tried it so far have arthritic changes in joints, for example. You might be recovering from an operation or illness, you might be tired for some reason, you might not be able to do inversions or weight bearing exercise like Downward Facing Dog. I say 'you', but of course it might be that you can think of someone who might enjoy the class. If so, please pass on the information.

Tuesdays 9.30-11am at my house. Dates: 10th January, 17th January, 24th January, 31st January, 7th February, 21st February, 28th February, 6th March, 13th March, 20th March, 27th March – 11 classes - £88 for the term including home practice handouts – as well as being good for people interested in the 'quieter' yoga practices, this class is suitable for anyone who feels unable to attend a general yoga class at the moment for any reason – it is very gentle. Please contact if you have any questions.
