Yin Yoga

I started studying Yin Yoga when Barbara Moorby, a friend and yoga teacher, gave me a copy of a book by the American Paul Grilley. I have been working with it myself ever since, and attending intensive teacher training courses in 2008, 2010 and 2011 with Sarah Powers and with Paul Grilley in 2009 and 2011. In this style you stay in seated but strong poses for 3-5 minutes each. It is challenging, fascinating and meditative.

Each week we work with a number of held ‘yin’ postures, with simple meditation, with strong, dynamic postures and relaxation.

Yin Yoga is a great complement to other yoga work. If you attend this class regularly I think you will notice changes in flexibility and in your ability to be still, as I have done.

Mondays 7.45-9pm at my house. Dates: 9th January, 16th January, 23rd January, 30th January, 6th February, 20th February, 27th February, 5th March, 12th March, 19th March, 26th March – 11 classes - £77 for the term
